PRHDR is a 501(c)3 registered organization that promotes empowers nursing students and medical and non-medical volunteers to offer medical clinics in the Dominican Republic, while promoting access to continuous care and health education in remote areas of the country.
Twice a year we serve over 2,000 patients in 15 rural villages by providing clinical health care, medical supplies and basic instruction in the areas of nutrition and disease prevention, dental health and hygiene.
Our mission is to offer transformative learning opportunities for future healthcare leaders in Maine and beyond through working closely with underserved communities to improve health in the Dominican Republic. Building connections. Changing lives. Fostering leadership.
